viking vendors: to-go box redesign

For this project I was tasked with selecting a food item on WWU's campus and reinventing it's packaging. As someone who loves the chicken curry from our campus' Indian food vendor but hates the inconvenience of the carryout containers, I decided to create new to-go boxes for all of our food vendors that serve meals on campus everyday. I wanted to create a package that was functional, convenient, and more aesthetically pleasing than the current plain white takeout boxes. My reinvented packaging includes handles, space to carry cutlery, and a newer, more exciting design language.
I started with a lot of sketching to decide on the shape and pattern for my package.
I created moodboards and then many different prototypes to test out my dielines.
In addition to photographing my final packages I decided to also make a video to go along with the new designs, which I filmed both inside a studio and outside on campus.
In the end I created two final boxes with different patterns, taglines and interior dividers.
